Valuer Is One Of The 21 Nominees For DigitalEurope's Future Unicorn Awards 2021

Valuer has been selected by DIGITALEUROPE – Europe’s largest trade association representing the digitally transforming industries – as one of the 21 nominees for its annual ‘Future Unicorn Award 2021.’

Running for the fourth year in a row, the ‘Future Unicorn Award’ is the Eurovision of young tech companies. The Award celebrates scale-ups from across Europe that have the potential to become future European tech giants. It is compiled in collaboration with DIGITALEUROPE’s national trade associations representing the digital and technology sector.

This year, 21 truly inspiring companies from 17 European countries were shortlisted. The nominees come from a variety of sectors, including financial technologies, education technologies, e-health, energy, security and more. The winner will be announced by Mariya Gabriel, European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, on 4 February 2021 at DIGITALEUROPE’s flagship conference Masters of Digital, held virtually this year.

Valuer’s vision is to power organizations to harness the innovation economy. This is why being nominated for the Future Unicorn Awards represents both a great achievement and a valuable opportunity for our company. It means that our future growth efforts can be backed up by strong international recognition and visibility.

The Future Unicorn Awards help empower small ambitious businesses that aim at establishing their innovative offering as the future leaders of the tech industry. The award serves as a testament of Valuer’s commitment in establishing a strong innovation ecosystem which is vital to ensure businesses can stay competitive in the years ahead.

“Unicorns” are scale-ups valued at over one billion dollars. In the modern economy, digital companies get exponential advantages as they scale, as their economic value also rises. Unicorns are usually a good indicator of who will likely become a future tech giant.

The Future Unicorn Award is a great opportunity to showcase aspiring European scale-ups that have the potential to become future unicorns, highlighting that Europe has what it takes to become a digital leader.

Today, approximately 12% of the world’s unicorns are based in Europe. While this is a significant growth compared to only 6% in 2014, it is nowhere near enough. DIGITALEUROPE has set a goal for Europe to become home to at least 25% of the world's unicorns by 2025 among its success indicators for digital leadership.

It is time for Denmark and the rest of Europe to develop a dedicated strategy aiming at empowering and nurturing digital scale-ups, with the ambition of driving entrepreneurship and innovation, and consolidating a truly Digital Single Market where more and more companies have the opportunity to grow.
